The reason that I visited the Wildhorse Saloon was because I was visiting Nashville and had came across it using restaurant.com. The appearance of the establishment was nice and festive. The front door staff/hostess were very courteous and very attentive. The waitress was okay. She could have came by the table more. The food... The food was pretty low quality. I had the gulf shrimp and they tasted like they have deep fried in leftover sausage grease. They were overcooked and tough. This was a 21 dollar entree that wasn't worth 5 dollars. The coleslaw was very bland. The highlight of my meal was the Texas toast. My wife had the BBQ plate. She liked the pulled pork okay, but she ranked it close to the bottom of what she had eaten in her life. The brisket seemed pretty much tasteless... I tried a few pieces of it and I was not impressed. She said that Firehouse Subs had better tasting brisket than what was served to her. This restaurant would be really good if you got rid of the mediocre cook and actually got someone in there that knew how to cook... I am sure that there is probably more drinking than eating that goes on at the Wildhorse Saloon because it would take a drunk to enjoy what leaves the kitchen. I am so thankful that I used a restaurant.com gift certificate. I would have been really upset if I had paid full price for that meal. I would not recommend this restaurant to someone looking to eat in Nashville . This is a review to restaurant.com my son sent in... |

I'm glad I read this review. It was on our list to go there. I'll now look for something else. Do you know of anything similar? | ||||||

Eaglemaniac: You can probably find a similar menu at Big River Grill, BB Kings, or Rippy's in the lower broadway area. If you want good pork BBQ (or barbecue, depending on how you spell it...) you could try Jacks. Regardless, make sure to try Tennessee specialties like pork BBQ (not beef) and catfish.
