Restaurant/Bakery for birthday

We will be travelling through Sioux Falls, staying overnight in town on July 4th and leaving July 5th. We are basically just passing through on our way west, but we will also be celebrating a birthday that night for one of the people we are traveling with.

I'd like to order a cake from a nice bakery or restaurant that we could pick up and bring to the hotel to celebrate. We'll be weary from the road so I thought that might be the best idea. Or suggestions for a nice dessert out somewhere would be great as a second option.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Bakery: The Cookie Jar ph. 605-978-0991

Sit down dinner: Minerva's

Both are on Phillips Avenue in the downtown area. If neither of these are to your liking, there are other eating options along Phillips. If you do not want to go downtown, pretty much any chain restaurant under the sun can be found on 26th St. or 41st St. on the south end of town. There are exits for both 26th and 41st from I-29. 26th St. becomes Louise and eventually intersects with 41st, so they are in the same general area. Spezia's is an Italian place on the far south side of town that is also good.

If you decide to eat on Phillips, if you go north on Phillips from these restaurants, you will eventually enter Falls Park, the most scenic spot in town. A stroll or merely stopping to see the falls would make any birthday even more special. Great activity for after dinner.
