looking for a three bedroom suite that is not a high rise...

2 families going on vacation in June. Would like ocean front, and ground floor. Anyone know of any good places to stay? We would like to visit the Myrtle Beach area. We like small mon and pop hotels. Not the large high rises.

I can't comment on any oceanfront properties in MB proper as we usually stay right on the golf courses, however, if you're willing to stay a little farther north, you might want to check The Winds in Ocean Isle (www.thewinds.com). This is a gorgeous, quiet, family oriented low rise right on the water. We've stayed there a few times over the last number of years and have never had a bad experience.

The Winds is a great recommendation. Ocean Isle is a great family beach, close enough to Myrtle Beach if you want to visit but away from the crowds and traffic. OI is a barrier island so you go over the Intercoastal Waterway to get there. (big bridge) The Intercoastal Waterway is a great place to enjoy a different side of the coast. You can rent boats or kayaks, and enjoy the natural beauty of this area. There's also several restaurants on or near OI. Our favorite is Sharkey's, it's on the water right off of the waterway. Great food, atmosphere, and sometimes there's live music.

Best Wishes!

Try Roxanne Towers. It is so nice and clean! We have stayed there twice and would definitely not hesitate for a minute to stay there again! It's my favorite place!!!!

Also, Sea Watch Resort is nice for the money.

You should consider renting a house for both families. Look at Surfside and Garden City Beaches just south of Myrtle. A lot of the homes have private pools. The areas are very family oriented and less crowded than Myrtle but close enough to take advantage of all the Myrtle Beach attractions.

You should consider renting a house. Look at Surfside or Garden City Beaches just 10 mins south of Myrtle. We love it there. Very family oriented and less crowded, but close enough to enjoy all the restaurants and attractions at Myrtle. A lot of the house have pools too. Beaches are beautiful and less crowded.
