Well just got back last night ...we had a great time..wow the ocean was great hurrican Irean kicked up some big waves for us on the 13th...man that was fun the rips current was strong.waves were like 8 feet high...oh yea and my Sister and I got stung by a jelley fish......feels like a hot frying pan stuck to your skin...yyyyouch....but we lived.
man there are a lot of surf shops , about 4 per block, so when you get there just get a couple boogie boards, towels, and a umbrella for about 25 bucks..thats what we did then we just gave the stuff to a familly on the beach..they were happy and so were we..we ate at the hard rock cafe at broadway at the beach..and it was the worst service I have ever had...man I could not believe it, it took 2 hours and I am an easy going guy....geeezzzz ...however we did go to barefoot landing and ate at The House of Blues.....ohhhh man...great service..great food....great people..great concert..met the band and everything...wow..
we drove by myrtle waves...(packed) lines were huge
so we went to Wild Water in surfside..it was great lots-o-fun
lines not long, tons of slides (sceary too).
Forest Dunes was great--- not near as busy as downtown Myrtle or north Myrtle beach it right in the middle so you don't have to deal with the croud's
I wrote a forest dunes review with pics. and a myrtle beach review with pics also check it out.
also if you want good seafood get on 17 buisness and head south to Murrels Inlet once you get there take a left (follow Murrels Inlet signs) go about a mile or so and on the left you will see a restaraunt called Flo's STOP THERE go in and order the Dunkin pot,,, I have a pic I'll get it posted..anyway it is a huge cast iron pot full of oysters, clams, mussles, sausage, shrimp, crawdads, and a huge whole crab to top it off..it is spectacular...feeds two people....wow ....
oh yea and it was Hot,,,, 110 heat index..but room had great air and the temp at the ocean was like 88 degrees and the water temp was 85
got a great car rental... caddy stx woohooo felt like I was livin the high life...
there is a Cheesburger in Paradise restaraunt close to north Myrtle Beach in 17 bus (Kings HWY) it great exellent food..and drinks.
so how do I rate it..?? well Lets be real about the whole deal..its a place where lots and lots of people go to vacation..so thats who they cater too..now most places are not perfect ..infact I would say most hotles look like a dump...shure you can find cheap places to stay.....and you can find very very very pricy places to stay....but if you keep a level head and get reasonable price in a area you would like to stay then don't expect a 5 star room for half the price....look I payed a decent price and got a room that was great...but the hotel shows a little wear and tear,...so what, salt water is horrible on everything from wood to meatal and upkeep is difficult...lets take the elevator for example....I push the button to go up , but nothing happens.....while I get angry at the hotel for slow elevators I don't realize the two kids that got in prior to me pushed every floor button on the way up and the way down...so just relax and have a good time...dont worry be happy....
your on vaction
p.s. Ill be going back to Forrest Dunes
so you know what....
