i know this is the Hilton head Forum, but not too much traffic in the Daufuskie forum. Anyone know of any nightlife out there or is it better to take the ferry back to Hilton Head. My wife turns 30 while we are going to be at Daufuskie for a wedding and we wanna PAR TAY. Is there anywhere there we can do this. Thanks. |

The Dafauskie Island club is the only venue on the island. There are no clubs or restaurants that are not part of the Club. You will have to take the ferry back. If you are staying there you can take the water taxi to Harbortown and party there. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Or go to the main ferry stop. You can walk to the Boathouse, Charley's Crab, or Hudsons from there. The boathouse has a great bar with lots of action outside the main restaurant. Stn (hhiguy)

Thx hhiguy another question for ya. Looks like the water taxi and ferry quit running rounn 11:00pm so we might have to stay in HH for the evening. Can you reccomend an inexpensive place to rest our heads for the evening, preferably somewhere within walkign distance of Harbortown or the above mentioned bars/restaurants?

Not much is inexpensive on the island. The best you are going to do is with the motels on 278. Try the Hilton Garden Inn just off the island, or the Red Roof Inn or Hampton Inn midisland. stan (hhiguy)

You might want to consider taking the new jet boat that runs between Daufuskie and Savannah.
Check their website at www.daufuskieresort.com
It's new and they may let you spend the night in Savannah and come back the next day. There are lots of bars, clubs and restaurants on the riverfront.
Watch Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil to get ready for you trip!

I would recommend going back to Hilton Head. There's a great place call San Miguel's in Coligny Plaza. It's a mexican restaurant with great drinks! They usually have a live band playing too.

As far as somewhere to stay inexpensive...you might check the Holiday Inn Oceanfront. Some of my family have stayed there and I don't recall it costing that much. If you do plan to for sure stay in Hilton Head, I would suggest checking around hotels now. They book up fast depending on the season.

Actually, San Miguel's is in Shelter Cove Harbour on the waterfront in Broad Creek. No big deal. Everything is close by on a 12 mile island like HH. Aunt Chiladas is in the Coligny area.

Responding to an old post - but I think it's needed. There are three clubs on the island, not just Daufuskie Island Club. Also, the place to go is "Marshside Mama's." There's always a crowd of locals and visitors there to enjoy the delicious food cooked up by Beth. Live music can usually be enjoyed most weekends. Lots and lots of fun can be found there by people of all ages!
