Downtown Marina

We are considering cruising the ICW up from Charleston, staying a few nights in Georgetown. Does anyone have any input on the marinas within walking distance. The photos all look so charming of the marinas downtown. I've stopped by the Georgetown Marnia coming back and forth through Pawly's/MB, but have never experienced historic downtown Georgetown. Any advice for which one to stay at?

Well the Downtown Marina (close to the smokestacks) the location is good it is within walking distance to downtown, but the facilities not so good. We stayed there last October, we sponsor SeaRay trips from our boat dealership, we took 8 boats various sizes and the smaller boats were not so bad, but we were in a 40' Motoryacht and had to tie up to a stationary dock to pilings that was just a nightmare to keep the boat from rubbing and of course with the tide, sometimes we could not even get on the boat with out a step ladder. But if you don't have a car then it is the best place to be. The shower facitilies, yucky!
