We live in Pittsburgh, are planning a trip to Gettysburg soon, and were thinking of stopping off enroute at Shanksville. It appears to be right along the way, but it's hard to tell from the National Park Service website what is actually there to see. They have artists drawings which make me wonder if maybe there's nothing much yet???
I suppose a stop just to pay our respects could still be worthwhile, but if anyone has been to the Memorial, I'd appreciate your thoughts on the subject. How much time would be needed at Shanksville "as is"? Thought maybe we could have lunch nearby before going on to Gettysburg. Is there anything for visitors in the area?
