Strasburg to Sesame

Will be driving from NYC to Strasburg then on to Langhorne/Sesame Place with our 2 year old. We are planning on a Monday-Thursday "mini-vacay".

He LOVES trains and Elmo so we are hoping he will have an amazing time.

Is it worth it to stay the night in Strasburg or will a day be fine? Any Family motel/hotel recs?

And then 2 day pass for Sesame -

Any other rec's?

I would definitely stay in the area for the night. There is alot to see in the Lancaster area and you should definitely stay at least one night. I can recommend a few places. In Strasburg the Fulton Steamboat Inn was a great place to stay. It has a cruise ship theme and it is shaped like a ship. They have a great playground for the kids and nicely decorate landscaping. Also I heard the rooms have all been renovated so that is a good thing. My kids loved it there. Another place I can recommend is Bird In Hand Family Inn - they have 2 indoor pools and an outdoor pool right beside them with a graduated entrance, also a big hot tub, they have mini golf, my kids also love this place. Another great one is Willow Valley which has the indoor waterpark but that is further away and a bit more expensive depending on when you go. The BIH and WV get booked up fairly quickly so i would book way ahead of time. The closest would be Fulton Steamboat which is also across from the shopping outlets and many restaurants.

The Bird in Hand Family Inn is located in Bird-In-Hand and about 5 miles away so your closest bet would be Fulton Steamboat which is in Strasburg.
