We will be staying in the Dalles for one night (July 21st). The reviews I see for the Shilo Inn are pretty scary. Anybody know a good place to stay for the night near there? |

I stayed in The Dalles at Shilo but a dozen years ago. it was ok. nice views of river from some rooms. Have not stayed at COuntry Cousins, located more in shopping area than Shilo | ||||||

I just stayed at Country Cousins last month - have stayed here 3 or 4 times in the past few years. Nothing fancy - but clean - and west end of town - no views. Moderate rates Tiny pool and hot tub. The Cousins Restaurant next door has good and plentiful country-style food - more than I can eat. The Shilo has a view - but haven't read the reviews. Be sure and drive around town to see the colorful murals and the large museum on the river is excellent. | ||||||
