Choosing N Willamette wineries to visit

We are looking forward to visiting the North Willamette Valley wineries and there are so many recommendations that it's difficult to decide which ones to visit. It sounds as though some Portland wine shops and the Carlton Winemakers Studio offer good selections of local wines for tasting and purchase. Do certain wineries stand out as "must sees" for the beauty of their grounds, uniqueness of their tasting facilities, informative tours, or other characteristics?

You may have the wrong understanding of Carlton Winemaker's Studio. It's a coop of sorts for very small producers who make their wine and offer it in the tasting room. It's all local of course, but I wouldn't say it's a good selection, or necessarily representative of the best of Oregon wine.

For beauty of facilities and surroundings, it's hard to beat Domaine Serene, Domaine Drouhin, and Archery Summit, which all share the same hillside a few miles west of Dundee. But, you'll choke on their bottle prices. Tasting fees aren't cheap either: $10 - $20. Torii Mor, at the top of Worden Hill has a nice setting too. Not the expansive valley views of the others, but beautiful park-like grounds. Penner Ash is also worth a visit, both for their wines and the view from their brand new facilities. And I've always like the building and grounds at Rex Hill, just east of Newberg.
