As the General Manager at the Inn at Cape Kiwanda, I'd just like to let everyone know that for 49 weekends a year Pacific City is a great place to enjoy our quiet and peaceful surroundings. The 1st and 3rd weekends in July and the 1st weekend in August are big celebrations and the area around Cape Kiwanda is not quiet. This period of time is for people that want to be social and that are not bothered by the noise. Even though we work very hard at keeping our beaches clean, many people leave trash behind and it takes time to clean up after them. We hope that everyone can enjoy Pacific City for what it really is, a great place to visit.

I hear ya. PC is the best. I spent many days of my youth climbing the dunes and watching the fishermen clean salmon on the rocks by the cape. My mom had a cabin in town and we made every summer for a few weeks. Back then your location had a restaurant across the street was just a parking lot. (Later they put in an ice cream parlor and hamberger stand)

A lot has changed over these past fifty years, but much has remained the same. PC is still a charming place to get away from the fast paced world in which most of us have chosen to live in. And of coarse Haystack Rock is an everlasting symbol of Pacific City and the way life ought to be lived.

Thanks for keeping it so!
