Weekend Happy Hours, Farmer's Market,Sushi

Hello,

Going to Eugene for Saturday night from Portland and will be staying near campus. Any great Happy Hours nearby? We tend towards Asian but Tapas would be great. Trying to stay a little gluten free. Here in Portland many Happy Hours run 7 days a week. Also, the Farmer's Market has some food vendors I saw online...Are there places to sit and eat? Any food booths on campus? We had sushi before by the Hilton and it was great(forgot the name)(we know our Japanese cuisine and are picky)..Any other new places? We will be walking probably so anyplace 2/3 a mile or so from campus area...

The Saturday Market and Farmers Market are next to each other on the Park Blocks and offer lots of food options, seating and entertainment.

The sushi restaurant you refer to might be Sushi Pure or Sushi Station, which are just a block apart on 5th Ave.; or maybe Kamitori at 1044 Willamette.

Not sure about happy hours, but the students are back and classes have started so every weekend is happy hour everywhere if you're close to campus. Unfortunately, too many students get too happy! There are food carts on campus during the week and the offerings in the student union (Erb Hall) are pretty good as well. But not sure if they operate on weekends.

When you say you are staying "near campus," does that mean on Franklin? Even downtown could be considered near campus. There are lots of new restaurants in town, too many for me to keep up with (it's a tough business). The old Zenon is now Dalia, a Lebanese Restaurant that might interest you.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you want more specific into.

Sounds good on the markets and looking at Sushi Pure that looks a decent choice...
