We spent a wonderful couple of days in Bandon earlier this month and wanted to briefly share our experience in case it would be helpful to others considering a visit to Bandon. First of all, we booked a room at the Bandon Beach Motel, and are very happy that we did. Simple, yes, but with an absolutely stunning view, a very, very friendly and helpful staff, and extremely easy access to the beach. We will stay at the Bandon Beach Motel again. I grew up in Oregon but now live across the country, so I wanted our son to experience a full couple of days on one beach instead of just a few hours here and there. The Bandon beaches are so much fun -- lots of caves to explore, and more tidals pools than I have seen anywhere else. We made a point of knowing when the tide was lowest so we could be safe and so we could have best access to the rocks. Our son also loved the dozens of "forts" built out of driftwood and enjoyed seeing how the evolved day to day. We ate pretty simply while we were there, but had a couple fantastic crab and shrimp sandwiches and some smoked fish that we got from the places right down at the wharf. I would not be surprised if we come back next summer!
