Hi, we have a group of about 20 who will be at the Grand Sirenis from March 31 to April 8. This group is made up of about 6 to 8 moms and their senior high school daughters, my husband and myself, our friends and their two teenagers who are 14 and 17. We're coming from Fremont, Michigan. Anyone out there who will be there then?

We'll be going to Tulum, the Gran Cenote, Cancun, and Isla Mujeres this go around. This is our 5th trip down and we love it. We toured the Grand Sirenis last fall and loved it. Can't wait. 54 days and counting.

Karen

Hey Mike, I think we're on the same flight. We'll look around for you and introduce ourselves. You're right about boys and their sports. I'm sure they'll have lots to talk about. Thanks for the info.

Hi, glad to here you are going back!

We are going Feb 24. We want to go on tours - Tulum, Xcarta, etc. I''ve read some reviews to book tours from home, book tours when you get there, don't book tours - just go yourself....

what should we really do? how should we do it?

Hi, Karen and others! My husband and I are spending 5 days in the Grand Sirenis from 3/31 to 4/4 for our 2nd honeymoon! We can't wait!

Anyone else arriving 3/31 want to share a ride? We did not buy any transfers in our package (from bookit.com) because we're spanish speakers and don't mind fending for ourselves (and saving $$). We arrive early (9:50 am) on Aeromexico.

We're just going to chill (it's our first vacation alone in 15 years of marriage) and take one day trip to Cobá and Tulum. We may rent a car or just use public transport for that as well.

Hi Nancy, you can't go wrong booking your own excursions. We've been down many times and have had no problem. You are close enough to Tulum to just take a taxi. It's free on Sundays to get in otherwise its still very inexpensive. Make sure when you are there that you follow the road that goes south from the ticket counter at the actual entrance to the park. This road leads to a bunch of cool restaurants and shops along the beach south of the ruins. Not all the tourist traps at the parking area.

Xcaret is great but pretty touristy but worth the entrance fee. Try to get a trip into Playa and if time take the ferry over to Cozumel its well worth the trip. Share a taxi van with others and you can save money. We rent a mini van for our crew but we've been there enough that we're comfortable getting around. We're going to try the Gran Cenote this time which we haven't done before.

You really can't go wrong with anything you do its all fun. We ordered maps from Cancun-Maps.com and they are fantastic and give very detailed information. Directions, tours to take, very specific information on shops and restaurants. The best money we've every spent.

Let me know if I can provide any additional information. Happy to help and we'll hope to meet you!

Karen

Hi Karen, everyone....

I know it's probably somewhere else in this forum, but can you give me some details about an excursion to Chechen Itza... Cost, travel, etc.

I was told that if you where to do only 1 excursion, this ws the one to do.

Any and all info will be appreceated.

Serge

1122RTD,

There will be two girls in our group 11 and my son is 9. The girls are a little shy, but the boy makes friends very easy. I'm sure we'll run into your group by the pool.

Hi Karen:

Our group will be there at the same time...Five families - 4 senior boys (uh oh!) and many other ages, boys and girls, teens and down to later elementary school. We can't WAIT to get out of snowy, cold - and today, windy - Michigan!

Do you know if you are staying at the Riviera Maya section or the Mayan Beach section?

Tia
