Thanks Ginny.

I booked the resort today for 10 days in November for $2500 for the both my husband and I. I wanted to make sure I got in on the deal since Nov. is always pricey in that area. I guess as I read reviews as they come in and I can always change my mind regarding my resort selection if need be. Should be a great time!

Take a look at the ongoing construction and location on google earth. The co-ordinates are 20-25-41.30 North by 87-17-32.40 West. Just across from the southern tip of Cozumel. It's partially obscured by clouds, but you can still get the idea.

Hi everyone -

We have begun our search for next March and were speaking to our travel agent yesterday wondering what she new about this place. She "raved" about it although that is based on word of mouth at this time. She mentioned that she was putting together a trip for herself to the complex as she likes to stay at a place before recommending it to her clients. All indications are that it is going to be really nice.

Sounds like this is in the running for us as a potential destination!

erniedfireguy - I never used Google Earth until now and I am baffled how amazing this tool is. That aside, the resort is looking good. :)

google earth allows you to see exactly where any resort is..........anywhere. The travel brochures always paint a rosy picture, but it's nice to see an aerial view, you know, to see who your neighbours are. Anyway, locogringo.com has the best aerial views of the Mayan Riviera, although not too current.

Ok. My travel agent went down to check things out however was not allowed to tour the property because of liability. From what she saw she said it looked amazing but couldnt really tell me how far along it looked. They better hurry cause Im booked for the last week of August. My understanding is that all the rooms of the hotel are finished but are in the process of furnishing them.

itravel2000.com has a "deal of the week" button, connecting through to a Sunquest deal of the week, listing a single week during the month of August at $899 pp, including air but before taxes, out of Toronto.

This is a great price for a fully operational 5start, but given the anticipated opening mid July, I'm leary about booking before reviews appear. I don't want to save some money to find us in a resort only half functioning, with construction equipment finishing the rest.....

I know this has been dealt with before, but here goes: I REALLY want to take advantage of the pricing, but my husband doesn't....and I want to go anyway! Can I feel safe travelling alone (of course, being aware of surroundings and using my head at all times!)?? I don't even necessarily want to leave the resort so outside trips may not even be an issue. Opinions??
