I was a little disappointed that we had to wait until after 9:00PM to get in to the lobster gala so I reluctantly used one of my reservations and booked the steakhouse instead. It was our first night there and I was really looking forward the gala. My disappointment didn't last long as I ended up having Filet mignon, jumbo grilled shrimp and all the lobster I could eat. What could be better than that?

OK!! I'm sold!!

Was the lobster cold?? Was it prepared the same way as the buffet? I wonder if it's only certain ala cartes that have the lobster?

So was it the surf n turf you ordered from the steakhouse?

Also did you guys bother using a private transfer or did you just go with the one provided?

FInally it's only a month and a week away!!!!!!!

The lobster wasn't cold and from what I could see it was the same as at the gala. (We walked through the buffet when were were done eating just so we could see what we missed.)

I imagine it is only in certain restaurants but I am not positive. Just ask the concierge when you book and he'll know.

Yes it was the surf and turf. You can order as many entrees as you like so mixing and matching is fine.

We did not take the private transfer because we arrived at 9:00am in Cancun and knew our rooom wouldn't ready ready at 10:30 anyway. It did take us longer to get to the resort but we had a blast we the people on our van so we really didn't mind. We decided to save the $140 and use it on a side jaunt instead.

Have you noticed how the reviews have changed gears in the past two months? They are overwhelmingly positive now. We think that their goal was to be ready for the Spring Break rush. Based on our experience and the newer reviews they are listening and really working out the kinks.

You will have a great time!

We're there from april 15-24th too!

If the beer is cold, room relatively clean and hopefully no mold, and the food doesnt' make us sick we're happy!!

It's amazing watching people ruin their holiday, we get a kick out of watching sometimes! We go with an open mind remembering where we're going and switch gears to "mexico time" and it doesn't take much to make us happy. I'm seeing some better rates than we paid way back in Feb but hey that won't even get us down!!

From these AWESOME reviews we know that it takes at least an hour and a half to get there. We know to expect a relatively big resort with walking...through jungle and beauty...oh the horrors!! There is a beautiful reef right there at our resort so we may need watershoes. And to expect that those waitresses on the beach are running their buts off for money we wouldn't dream of working even half that hard for, so we have our insulated mugs!!

I can't say again how great the reviews have been and especially this specific post. I think there were some complaints with merrit and I think too that they seem to be listening and alot of those are taken care of!

I CAN NOT wait to go!

A bad day in Mexico is better than a good day up in Canada!!

Are there life jackets readily available at the resort, and do they limit them to an hour at a time? We bring our own snorkel equipment so that we can stay as long as we want, but we usually like to use the life jackets at the resort so that we aren't tempted to stand up and damage the reef. We stayed at the Barcelo last year and loved it, but you had to walk forever to get to the life jackets. I've never bothered with buying snorkel vests, but may have to take the plunge if life jackets are not plentiful at Sirenis.

Also, is there a snorkeling pier, or just access wading in from shore?

I've really nothing to say, and this place sounds as if it's to be avoided for many reasons, but I just wanted to be on the thread as #1300; I like round numbers.
