Yes I did e-mail that travel agency but their price was higher. I booked with Escapes.ca out of Vancouver. Escapes. ca promises to meet or beat any price offered by other travel agencies in the country. The package they offer is through Sunquest Vacations but it is much cheaper to book through Escapes then through Sunquest directly.

I received an e-mail from the Sirenis today confirming that they will open on July 27, with 4 of the 7 specialty restaurants open. They also stated that they would still be putting the finishing touches on 4 of 10 buildings, but guests should not be inconvenienced. I am very relieved. I booked through Vacation Express, and the three other hotels they offered to put me in were not in the same location or of the same quality as the Sirenis. The only other choice was to use my travel insurance and cancel the trip, so I am glad to be going to the resort I chose, even if it is not 100% complete. Since I have already been to Mexico 3 times, I was very definite about the area where I wanted to stay and staying in Playa del Carmen just wasn't going to meet my snorkeling requirements!.

If your going to the hotel on the 27th can you please try to gain some form of internet access during your first couple of days to give everyone some real time feed back. Sorry if this had already been asked its just the hotel looks so amazing and i need to book our honeymoon soon as were getting married on the 27th august

We are going the 28th and we will give feedback as soon as we are able.

Along with an early review, pls comment on internet access. We are going in December but I need internet access for work (I know it's supposed to be a vacation :() Thanks

Boss just came back from Mayan, she visited this hotel and did a site inspection of it... as of now they will be opening next week... first week of August... nothing until then... they have 1300 people working 24/7 to get this place in working order for the first guests to arrive.... just wanted to give a tid-bit of info!

I would like to get an opinion from those that will be staying at this resort on the snorkeling there, has the construction of the resort disturbed this incredible snrokeling bay? I am looking for an early spring snorkeling vacation, right now I'm debating between the Grand Sirenis or the Akumal Beach resort!! I want to hear from those that have been there!!PLease post as soon as you get back!!!

Does anyone have a map of the property?? My TA says there are 2 "sections" of the resort, and you are placed in one or the other (or you choose to book one or the other). I imagine this is like the Bahia Principe : Akumal, Tulum, or Coba. Apparently there will be a fee to change so I'd like to make an informed decision if I can!
