It depends on what you looking for,snorkling is about the same but there is some rocks to climb on and a little Mayan Hut on the beach at the Grand Sirenis the picures posted on the reveiw part of this web site show the rocks and hut.

But the beach is by far more sandy and longer if you like to go for walks at the Barcelo.

I was at the Barcelo one year ago in Dec. 05 and was very glad I went.I went to the Grand Pallidium this Dec. 06 and was even happier with my choice.I went to the Grand Sirenis this Jan07 and was dissappointed with my choice but not with the beach.

So to answer you question they are both very nice beaches but in their own way.Look at the pictures and you will see which you prefer

Is the grand Sirenis closer to Coba, Tulum, etc? I am trying to decide between that resort and Barcelo Maya Beach. I understand the snorkeling is good at the Barcelo.

GS is closer to Tulum than BM. by 5-10 minutes by taxi.

Coba is inland from Tulum

I have also norrowed my search down to these two resorts for my honeymoon.

Does anyone know if there is any sort of nightlife at the Grand Sirenis?

Which resort has better food?

Domestic drinks or topshelf at both resorts?

Most activities?

Resort wanderer, what did you find disappointing about the GS? The web site pics look much more lovely than Barcelo; and much newer of course.

There is no comparison between the beach at the Barcelo and the beach at the Grand Sirenis.................in my humble opinion. We have stayed at the Barcelo twice and thte GS this past April..................the beach at the Barcelo is a very long wide expanse of white, sandy beach................the Gs beach is more rugged; while very beautiful, very short distances to walk on. The snorkeling was easier at the GS, less rough seas. I enjoyed both resorts....................but if I were choosing on beach only there would be no argument..................the Barcelo it would be..............................I would return to either resort in a heartbeat though.....................I think price would be the deciding factor!!!
