As I am sure everyone heading to GS has read, there is a vast difference in the reviews between those posted as the Maya Riviera and the Beach.

Once at the resort, has anyone tried to change from one side to the other? If so could you please share that experience?

We are booked at the Beach, but if we encounter the issues that some are writing about we would like the option to move.

My fear is if we were to ask a change now, that we could end up with a lower level room facing the parking lot or something like that.

We are a little apprehensive about the beach side as they seem to be having all of the same issues that the riviera side had when they ofirst opened.

Any info or opinions would be appreciated.

I did check with my travel agent. The resort is so new that they do not have much experience to go off from.

So I put it on here as there are many who have been there and may be able to share their experience.

There really is no difference other then walking a bit farther to get to the restaurants, beach and theatre. If you don't mind the walk, then I seriously wouldn't worry about it. It is all beautiful! We did start at the Beach, and moved to the Riviera side only because of the distance, and I have some leg issues at times. Better safe then sorry, and we ended up in building 1000 right near the theatre and lobby.

Have a great time!
