Hi Tea, no we don't know which side we'll be on. Our travel agent said we won't know until we check in that we didn't have a choice. We toured the hotel and we're okay with either. Its really a nice property despite some of the negative posts.

Too funny about the senior boys..... could be very interesting. The girls are very cute most were on the homecoming court. Where in michigan are you from? When and where are you flying out of? Maybe we'll run into you at the airport. We're flying out of Detroit (apple) Saturday afternoon around 4 ish.

Can't wait, I live on the Lake Michigan side and I'm really over this weather.

Hey dogcrazzie, and all other travellers,

We will be joining you at the Grand Sirenis. We are a group of 12 leaving out of Halifax, N.S.Mar 31, for two weeks. Another couple is meeting us there from Ontario. None of us have been to Mexico before. Most of this fun group has travelled to the Dominican together a couple of times,so we can't wait. We are mostly couples, all around that 40 - 50 age range, although we usually don't admit that. Too bad we don't have tripadvisor T shirts so we can all find each other. Sounds like the east coast will be well represented with all the other maritimers on this role call list. Great Travels to All!

We are from Grand Rapids and SICK of the weather too - although this new snow is beautiful - I'm ready for spring!!!

We are flying out of O'Hare on Saturday morning. With any luck, we will be at the resort by noon. I'm trying to gear myself for the longer ride down to GS as we have stayed in Playa Del Carmen a few times and this is even farther by about 20 miles. Hopefully our bus will be full of GS people so we can make a straight shot.

Yes My husband, myself and another couple are going there that week as well. We went to an area close by a coupl of years ago. We stayed at the Rui Palace. The town of Playa del Caarmen is twenty min. walk and worth going to visit. Nice shops and we had fruit smoothies and had no problems. We considered going back with our teenage boys and I felt comfortable letting them go into town on their own. We also did a outting to Xelha and had a wonderful time. You could float on tubs and snorkle. The food was great.. Our food was included in out entry. Have fun.
