Hi there,

I am really interested in this resort and got some good quotes from Edmonton, AB for April 2007. My fiance and I would like to get married there, and I saw they will have wedding and honeymoon packages. I would like to find out more information about these, but I have not had luck trying to reach the resort via email. Does anyone know what the best way would be for me to contact them? I don't want to wait too long to book in case the price goes up. Thanks!

Hey I Love Oceans!!!

In the 3 page brochure that downloads from the Sirenis website has an email address for the parent company. It may be tough to reach the resort itself due to the openning in July. Try the Parent company they may give you a contact name to make it easier. Worth a try???

Cheers.......................................................LD

Hi LornaDee! Thanks so much for your response! I think you are referring to the comercial@sirenishotels.com address? I did try that one as well, with no luck. I may try it again. By fluke, I found info on their wedding packages on one of the Sunquest quote pages, but I still need to know some of the particulars. I'll keep trying! I am so excited about this resort!

I think I'm going to wait to book this until I can see some reviews. I don't want to be stuck if they don't get up and running if they don't open on time or have limited amenities available. I would think that they would be running some good deals to get people in for months.

www.infomexico@sirenishotels.com is the site that hooks you up directly to the resort. I've been chatting with the manager and she is very helpful. This place was the location for the secluded beach day snorkel and picnic tours operated by Robinson Caruso catamaran tours since there was no road access. Good enough for me. By the way, Lornadee.....I dont know what dates you had in mind, but check out itravel2000.com, seems they have the best price.

As for wedding packages, seems to me that they are quite expensive for what you get. A little organizing on your part should be able to shave off some of that cost, if that's at all a concern to you.

Thanks for your responses!

Yes, the wedding packages are overpriced, especially considering these are all inclusives. However, it's like that at most of the good resorts. Planning the ceremony off site seems like a logistical nightmare. I finally heard from Francesca at the resort with package info. If anyone else would like the info, please let me know. I am waiting to hear back if they allow outside photographers, as I found a great one who does a lot of MR weddings.

Our choices are the week of April 7 or the week of April 14. Since Easter would be the day after we arrive, and we cannot guarantee that people may still may off for that Monday, it may be safer to go with the 14th? The hotel requires the couple to be in Mexico 4 working days before the ceremony takes place. If we went the week of the 7th, that would likely mean an a Friday the 13th wedding! I;m not very superstitious, but something to ponder ;)

My travel agent has indicated that a lot of people are excited about this report. Count me in!

Lornadee and erniedfireguy, I finally did it and went ahead and booked. I'm not going until Feb, 2007 but the price seemed right. I booked through Escapes.ca they are out of Vancouver the toll free # is 1-888-658-6888 (ask for ext. 525 Charity is the travel consulant, she's the best). The price I was given was for 1 week stay at the Grand Sirenis was $1881.18 per person, we are flying out of Halifax. This is A/I and included all taxes and insurance. Also because Sunquest is offering this deal right now you can get a free room upgrade to oceanview at no extra cost. I've checked dozens of sites and found this to be the best price. Also erniedfireguy I too have been chatting with francescia the hotel manager and your right she has been helpful, can't wait to go here. Thanks for the help guys.

erniedfireguy, BTW I too checked with itravel2000 and yes they too offer a good price just $32.00 more per person than Ecapes.ca was offering. We are flying out on a friday so that too makes it a bit cheaper than flying out on a saturday. FYI Escapes also promises that if you find a lower price at the time of booking they will beat it! Just something to consider?

I booked with escapes only after I told them that itravel was, for us in Vancouver, over $20 cheaper. So they knocked off a few bucks more and sold it for $2095.00 after tax for 2 weeks in early December. Incidently, I have found that tropical travel anywhere is the cheapest during the last week of November right through mid December. Those are the best rates of anytime of the year.

Anyone who is going, I recommend bringing your own mask and snorkle since, with the abundance of turtles and ray fishes, you'll be spending a lot of time in the ocean. Saves the hassle of constantly going back to the dive shop for their equipment. Besides, your borrowing time is limited to maybe an hour if your lucky.
