Where should we stay?

We are planning a trip for Christmas 2013. Wife, myself, son (17), daughter (13) will stay in a condo or similar. What we need help with is where to go. Our short list is:

2.Rincon de Guayabitos

3.San Pancho

4.Punta de Mita

5.Nuevo Vallarta

What we are looking for - beach - nice, sandy, and swimmable. Waves are good for boogyboarding and I'd like to take some surfing lessons.

- restaurants - mostly for dinners, hopefully not priced for the tourists.

- farmers' market - nice to get fruit and veggies right from the source.

- grocers - for breakfast and lunch items, etc.

- not looking for big town crowds, etc. (quiet is good).

Can anybody compare Puerto Morelos to any of these towns? We've been there and that might help us get a picture of these towns.

Punta Mita has everything you´´re looking for except Farmer´s Markets because nobody really farms around there. Sometimes they have trucks rolling around the town with produce but you have to be there to flag them down. They have basic grocery stores though. (None of the towns you mention have big grocery stores).

Good surfing lessons. Restaurants in all price ranges. Very quiet and a choice of beaches, one more sandy than the other, but both swimmable.

Have you thought of Bucerias?

We've been to Bucerias a few times, but never roomed in town. It's nice, but not sure we'd stay there. Don't know why.
