Mexico City to Patzcuaro

I've been doing some serious searching for information on buses from Mexico City airport to Patzcuaro or from Mexico City to Patzcuaro.

I've tried Ticketbus as we as ETN

Has anyone done this trip recently?

Ticketbus is the website for ADO and its partners and they only operate south of Mexico City.

On ETN, you probably need to take a bus to Morelia and then a local bus from there. Check to see if Primera Plus run a direct service to Patzcuaro.

No buses from the airport: the furthest north you can get from there is Querétaro.

You will definitely need to either change buses in Morelia OR you can actually get a cab for about 200 pesos from Morelia to Patzcuaro.

There are 18 departures a day from Mexico Poniente terminal direct to Patzcuaro and 3 from Mexico Norte on Autovias (see www.autovias.com.mx). Cost is 350 pesos.

We travel frequently between Mexico City and Patcuaro, and contrary to other posts there are indeed buses that go from Mexico City to Patzcuaro. They stop for a few minutes in Morelia but only ten minutes are lost in the diversion.

The lines to check are autovias, ETN, and Primera Plus. It is really not necessary to hunt too hard for a bus that continues to Patzcuaro, as at most hours of the day there are buses leaving all the time from Mexico City to Morelia and from Morelia to Patzcuaro. You usually have no more than a 15 minute wait for the next bus from either point.
