stop over between whistler to jasper

Looking to self drive in the Rockies next June, looking at the map it appears to far to drive from Whistler to Jasper in one go, is Sun Peaks the only suitable place to stayover? If so, can anyone recommend a reasonable hotel. Cheers

If you are from the UK, yes it is probably too far. Most Europeans are not used to the kinds of distances we travel here. We do a six hour drive on a Friday after work to visit friends in Williams Lake!

Whistler-Jasper would be a long day, about 12 hours, so many people choose to break it up. And there is SO much to see, that its a good idea to stop. Kamloops and Clearwater are popular stops. People go into Wells Gray Provincial Park along the way.

Thanks for this. Dont want to stay in Kamploops as will be staying there a few days later as 3 will be joining the Rocky Mountaineer in Banff(kickin horse route). Would you say Clearwater was nicer than Sun Peaks?
