B&B and wine tours Yadkin Valley

Looking to spend a day touring wineries in NC. We have visited Napa and Sonoma and always enjoyed the experience. Since this trip will be a first in NC, we are looking for Winery recommendations and lodging ideas. We are a couple of 2. We enjoy full bodied red wines with lots of flavor (jamminess?). (Zinfandels and Malbecs)

We always enjoy Shelton Vineyards. www.sheltonvineyards.com

The grounds are beautiful, their restaurant, Harvest Grill is very good and enjoy the wine tastings.

There is no B & B on the grounds, but there is a Hampton Inn about 1 mile away.

As you probably know, there are lots of wineries in the area. Among my favorites are Raffaldini (IMO they have the most scenic property and their wines are excellent), West Bend, RagApple Lassie, Childress, and Hanover Park. Sorry I can't help much with the B&B's, as I live here and don't have the need to stay in them. I have heard good things about the Vintage Inn in Yadkinville, but again I haven't stayed there so I can't give you any details.

Also, you might consider taking a winery tour--several companies are doing that now. Google "Yadkin Valley winery tours" and you'll find them. That way you won't have to worry about driving.

Thank you all for helpful info. We enjoyed the Raffaldini Vineyard best. We toured Laurel Gray, Raylen (close second!!!), Sanders Ridge and Shadow Springs (wide selection, nice variety, helpful staff). We stayed at the Fairfield Inn--top notch!! Look forward to a return trip!
