We drove on the BRP from Fancy Gap to West Jefferson this past weekend - lots of rhododendron ( the light pink variety). A few wild flowers as well but not an abundance.

Go west towards Cherokee. You should see some Mt. Laurel and Flame Azalea starting to bloom. Middle of June is better.

I went from Asheville to Blowing Rock yesterday and the rhododendrum were very nice closer to Asheville but not so much at the higher elevations. I think we are a week or two away.
