Milos Island, Cyclades, Greece

Great island, so much to do and see. Definitely rent a car which you can do cheaply.

Definitely visit Sarakino whatever you do. Fantastic place with most incredible landscape ever. Papa Fragas and Mandrakia (i think) are definitely worth a trip too. Paleochori beach is great.

- Eat at the Aragosta restaurant in the port. Ghastly place with vile food and is triple the price of all the lovely tavernas. Seriously.

- Visit the Katacombes that you'll see signs for everywhere. They are pathetic! One small cave room and so uninteresting.

You must have missed the real Catacombs of Milos.

On the way to the Catacombs, there are a couple of small caves, probably connected to the main Catacombs once but not anymore. If you were to walk a few hundred feet further, you'd have come to the entrance of the real Catacombs.

The Catacombs of Milos dating from the 1st - 5th century, are not a "pathetic little cave" by a long shot. Featuring 3 sections, with passages measuring 183 meters in total length and 291 tombs in the form of both arcosolia and ground vaults, they constitute the most important early Christian monument of worship in all of Greece, and rank among the 3 most significant Catacombs of the 74 discovered worldwide, being older (though much smaller) even than the ones of Rome.
