In Charlotte for Thanksgiving Weekend. What to do?

Hey guys

We will be going to Charlotte on thanksgiving weekend (Thursday-Sunday) from Florida.

I was wondering if you had any suggestions on what to?

We have never been to Charlotte, we've been to the Raleigh area once before and loved it.

While this will be a vacation trip for us we'd also like to get to know the area and suburbs since we are considering moving from FL and NC has been once of the places that keep popping up as places we should see, not only for weather but just nicer people and overall quality of life.

Thanks!

The biggest draw that weekend is the Carolina's Carrousel Parade on Thanksgiving day. http://www.carrouselparade.org/ One of the largest parades in the country... Fun to go watch all the floats and marching bands....and of course see Santa at the end!

This website has a lot of info....start with the attractions at the bottom of the page. www.charlottesgotalot.com/default.asp…

Stowe Botanical Gardens in nearby Belmont usually turns on their beautiful Christmas light display around Thanksgiving. Their website looks like it needs updating. If interested, you may want to call to see when they will start. http://www.dsbg.org/geninfo.php
