I would suggest going to South Park Mall. Top designer stores and wonderful restaurants. It's approximately 7 miles from your hotel. If you don't have your own transportation you could take a cab. It is located at Sharon and Fairview Roads. You can google it for more info. Enjoy the Queen City.
Retail was essentially removed from uptown years ago. There are only a few boutique type stores. These will be in the Overstreet Mall and Epicentre.They cater to those who work uptown and generally have limited hours. I agree that SouthPark is your best bet - it's an upscale mall. Best wishes.
