Residence Inn South Park but I am open. How is the safety in those places-and how is the traffic? And the hotel? I know I am asking a lot...

Southpark is nice, the mall is right there and there are numerous options to eat at. I used to live right up the road and I always felt pretty safe. Traffic can be hectic in the morning and evening commuting hours, but in between you should be able to be Uptown within 15 minutes or so.

okay, so would you do teh residence inn Southpark or Drury Inn, I think Uptown?

I would definitely go with Residence Inn over Drury Inn

I meant to add that the Drury Inn is not Uptown, there is one in University and one next to the North Lake mall (also next to the highway). Neither location is ideal in my opinion

There is a wonderful Hampton Inn across the street from Southpark Mall and included in Phillips Place, with shopping, dining and access to many activities. It is superb location

You would commute to Discovery Place, but have everything else you wish for!

The Southpark location is the best for you IMO. Once traffic dies down in the mornings its a short drive to Uptown for Discovery Place. Check out google maps etc... and find a route through Myers Park and enjoy the neighborhood.

Before you make your final decision, pull up the Hampton Inn Southpark and recheck. A very pleasant , quiet place to stay. There rates are good and the surroundings are enough to keep yo busy for days.
