Mauritius again

Having had a marvellous time in The Maritim Hotel in Sept 2012, we want to go again but miss the odd rainfall.

Is it best to go January, February or March?

Please help to complete another wonderful holiday

The weather for all three months is very much the same hot and humid. Pot luck will dictate whether you face heavy rainfall or almost none. Its summer but its also the cyclone season and its unpredictability dictates how much rain you can get.

2. Re: Mauritius again

I have been there every March for the past few years and avoid January to February because statistically most cyclones occur then. However, we have had some cyclones form out of season - ie last October - so no guarantees.

We also had cyclone Imelda in mid April this year - she meandered round the Indian Ocean for a week or more and we went on a class 2 alert before the cyclone changed course at the last minute and headed for Rodrigues

So no guarantees re cyclones or rain.

I would opt for March if you have a choice.

More rain in January and February.

Welcome back to Mauritius! :)
