Mid-scale hotel with easy access to U.S. Open

We have a tight turn around to see as much tennis as we can while at the U. S. Open. Someone recommended Long Island City as having a subway that could get us to the Billie Jean King tennis Center in quick order. What is a moderately priced hotel near the subway entrance to get us there fast. Also we are flying into Laguardia. We will want to dump our stuff and go so airport shuttle would also be great!

Exact travel dates? Prices can vary significantly.

Your definition of mid-scale, moderately priced?

Long Island City has lots of moderately priced hotels near the subway, including several that have sprouted up in the last year or two. Prices can climb for the U.S. Open though. I've seen LIC hotel prices occasionally higher than some Manhattan hotels at the start of the U.S. Open.

Maps.google.com can show you which hotels are near the subway and which aren't. Use the "Directions" feature and hit the train icon. Or look for the "M" icons on the map. Also read reviews.

You can provide your exact dates, number of people and bedding needs and target budget for some suggestions from the forum.

For awhile, there was a list of conveniently located hotels that would get repeated on the forum, but it's now pretty out of date because so many new hotels have opened. JennyR has been doing a good job of revising it a bit for new hotels. Here's a link to one of her recent posts on the topic (Post #19) tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g60763-i5-k7613420…
