Lake Placid Wedding |

Congratulations. You chose a beautiful spot as long as you schedule your wedding for the beginning of October. It is hard to suggest any locations. I would not chose any place right in Lake Placid. Wawbeek is fine if you like a rustic style and matching food. We went to friends' wedding there. I suggest you come for a weekend and look at all those places you have in mind. After all PA is not far from Lake Placid. Depends where you live but it should be about 8 hours drive.

Another thought, whatever place you chose make sure you are going to have an option to have your ceremony outside or inside. It may be a gorgeous day hence it would be a shame to be inside or it may not be a day suited for an outdoor wedding. Come and check it out for yourself.

I am getting married at the Whiteface Club on the lake in June, it is beautiful, right on the lake, good food, and you can have it in the wedding garden on the lake or opt for an indoor location. You can stay on site too, or else I would certianly suggest Mirror Lake Inn for beautiful accomodations. Congratulations!

I would go with the Ceromny Outside the Colors are just too gorgeous to miss the pjoto opps. I just moved from up in that area. Wawbeek is a perfect spot too. another good area up in there is in Westport at like the country club most places are right on Lake Champlain and with VT in the back ground it can be breathtaking. There are some great spots up there depending on your budget. Good luck and congrats!!!! we're doing our wedding up there for September It's hard to choose one spot.

My wife and I got married in LP Oct 19, 2002. Weather is definitely unpredictable as we had snow and then light rain. Regardless, AWESOME place to get married. We used the Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn at that time, but had it at the Golf House which is owned by them. We had 220 people which is about the max and they did a great job and the views of the golf course and ski jumps will impress your guests. They also have an outdoor area which you can utilize if weather permits. One caveat: if you're not from LP, finding someone to marry you can be tough. We used a pastor out of Jay...a weird story..... Also, photographer is a challenge. Bottom line.....GO FOR IT !!! YOur guests will love it!!! Email me at smithmedtronic@yahoo.com if you want more info.

Congratulations to you both. You might want to check out the Whiteface Club or Lake Placid Golf Club. Both can hold 150+ and do weddings beautifully. The views are incredible from both. Either place can do inside or out depending on our unpredictable weather. Fall in the adirondacks is amazing. Try to book before 10/15 as peak is usually done by then. I have been to weddings at both places and had a wonderful time. My Brother in-laws wedding was 10/7 this past year held at the Whiteface club which has a lovely view of Lake Placid right on a lovely golf course. It was 60+ degrees, cool, but sunny and beautiful. He held coctail hour right at their boathose which was wonderful. You can also rent a tour boat for your guests and cruise Lake Placid through the Lake Placid Marina which is a wonderful thing. As a local I must say the wabeek is nice but a bit far for driving after the function (i.e. 20 minutes into Saranac Lake, 30 to Lake Placid) As you are out of town, people need accomodations a bit closer to where the event is being held unless you are not serving alcohol. Both the Whiteface Club and Lake Placid are within seconds of various hotels from the inexpensive to expensive. Good luck and if you need names and contact numbers please feel free to email me at adkhills@roadrunner.com.

I was recently married this summer in Lake Placid outdoors at the private residence of friends. We used Fruitful Seasons Catering (www.frutifulseasonscatering.net) and I highly recommend them, they are the best. Also, I highly recommend Sherry as a wedding planner, whether you want her to plan your whole day or just be there the day of to release you from any hassles, she is certainly just the best, and her website is www.areflectionofyou.net. I would recommend having your wedding under a tent at a great camp using these resources. Your guests will love the outdoor Adirondack scenery and truly appreciate the locality you and your fiance chose. After all, everyone has been to a wedding at a hotel!
