2 day trip. Food, hike, suggestions

Hi,

Am staying at Wyndham Wingate hotel in Lake George for 2 nites this sunday and Monday. Would love some suggestions for food in the surrounding area. We are up for anything. Any good breweries/bars with good food? We don't mind eating at the bar one night. One day we would like to go on a hike and the othere more of a relaxing day. We are in our early 30s with no children. Any hidden gems food or hike would be great.? Thanks !

There is a brew pub in the Village - "never been there but they tell its nice" (My apologies to the Eagles). Cates in Bolton, Docksider on Glen Lake which is just a few miles from where you are staying & the Harvest in Queensbury also a few miles from where you are staying I recommend.

There are lots of great hikes around. I suggest checking out http://adk.org/home-flash.aspx full a full list and http://www.adk.org/Hikes/Hike_Ideas.aspx for hikes around Lake George.

This weekend (9/20-9/23) is the Adirondack Balloon Festival. http://www.adirondackballoonfestival.com/

Coming a bit further north on the Lake I suggest going up to Fort Ticonderoga too http://www.fortticonderoga.org/. They always have interesting programs and they also have a corn maze too. www.fortticonderoga.org/visit/detail/id/307

All great suggestions from ADK. I think the brew pub that he suggested is the Adirondack Brewery on Canada Street http://adkpub.com/beer.htm

Also, it's worth a drive up Prospect Mtn if you have time. Adirondack Extreme is fun and challenging for adults, too, if you are an adventurous couple. We also enjoyed a wine tasting at the Adirondack Winery http://adirondackwinery.com

It looks like the weather should be very nice! Enjoy your trip, and please give a trip report if you have a chance.

Adirondack Extreme is a MUST. Not far from there is a great hike in Bolton Landing with gorgeous views - Cat Mountain. You will find the entrance at the corner of County Rt 11 and Valley Woods Rd.

Hi. We just got back from a weekend at Lake George. We are in our 30s with no children as well. We really liked hiking Pilot Knob Ridge. There are two trails and we were able to do both in about three hours. The views at the gazebo were breath-taking. If you go, remember to bring some water and trail mix, etc.
