Best golf courses

What are the best golf courses in Ruidoso to play? I am not a member of any of the courses and having a hard time finding out information on the courses for the public. Thanks!

One site I found listed Sierra Blanca, Cree Meadows and Inn of the Mountain Gods as open to public. You couldn't ask for more beautiful location than IMG. It's a true mountain course. With my limited skill, it was a challenge. I stayed at wonderful house along Cree course, but it was during winter. Very beautiful and just off main part of Ruidoso. That's all I know.

My husband and I have played golf several times in Ruidoso in August over the last few years as a nice respite from the Texas heat. We may have to go earlier this summer since it has been has 106 the last two days!

Our favorite course is Inn of the Mountain Gods. It is open to the public. We have found nice golf packages on their website which include reduced golf rates, breakfast, room & a margarita. There is also a casino at the resort. The next best is the Links at Sierra Blanca , which is a well maintained course located in the center of Ruidoso. There is a hotel adjacent to this course which may have discounted golf rates. Another course we have played is Rainmaker, located outside of town near the airport. It is supposed to be a private course eventually, but was taking green fee players last summer. Neither of us like it very much. It is a tough course with lots of blind shots. In my opinion, it needs an infusion of $$$ to make it fair and fun. Probably will be private when that happens. It is a dramatic layout however. Crees Meadows is a 9 hole course near the Links at SB,but we have not played it.
