Where to meet friends in Las Vegas

My hubby & I are arranging to meet friends in Las Vegas - we're staying at NYNY and they're at Treasure Island. They've only been to LV once before and that was a totally escorted tour so don't know the area at all but we've been 4 times and (sort of) know our way around a bit. I've suggested - to avoid noisy bars and the busy entrances to hotels - that we meet on the bridge/walkway between NYNY and MGM. I feel a bit guilty tho cos it's right on our doorstep, does anyone have any better ideas on a non-crowded, easy accessible place we could meet that was, say, half way between the two hotels?

Before you go any further, let's make sure you're in the right place. This is the forum about Las Vegas NEW MEXICO, which is an entirely different place than Las Vegas NEVADA and has been around for about 100 years longer. Among other differences, they are about 700 miles apart.

Las Vegas, Nevada is the one with the casinos, The Strip, and the Liberace Museum. Las Vegas, New Mexico is just east of Santa Fe and has 900 buildings in town on the National Register of Historic Places.

The website for the Las Vegas, New Mexico Chamber of Commerce can be found at http://www.lasvegasnm.org .
