Boat from Phu Quoc to Thailand

Hi everyone, we are planning a trip to Vietnam & Thailand. Land in Ho Chi Minh and want to do both Hoi An and Phu Quoc. Then off to Thailand where we would like to do Ko Phangnan/ Ko Samui and then PhiPhi island. Fly out of Bangkok.

Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way and order to do this? Can you catch a boat from Phu Quoc to Thailand?

Or are we best to go HCMC - PQ - Hoi An -> Ko Phangnan (prob via Bangkok???)

THANK YOU all in advance for your experience and guidance!

Hey guys,

You cant catch a boat from Phu quoc to Thailand (unless you stow away on a fishing boat etc...) I think you will need to do both legs, PQ and Hoi an (Danang) flying out of HCMC as there are no direct flights from PQ to Danang.

Happy planning,

You can fly from Phu Quoc to Bangkok with Viet Jet. So I suggest you to do Hoi An first and end in Phu Quoc .

Although the International airport in Phu Quoc is now open, there are no flights yet from there to Bangkok. Vietjet only fly from Saigon to Bangkok .You will have to return to Saigon and fly from there,or go to Phnom Penh by boat/road,via Ha Tien, and fly from Phnom Penh to Bangkok. As poster#2 says, there are no boats from Phu Quoc to Cambodia or Thailand.only Ha Tien and Rach Gia-both ports are in Vietnam
