Mai House or Sea Star - which would you go for?

Just wondering what people's thoughts are on each one.

I looked at the pics on trip advisor and, to me, it looks like Mai House is a little bit more traditional and less cramped, whereas sea star has the bungalows right side by side, although, granted they are very much on the beach.

Are they pretty close to each other on Long Beach?

Do both have a bar/restaurant facing out onto the beach?

Hi,

We had the same decision before we went, and chose Sea Star based on the reviews on TA and that they had air conditioning (not sure Mia House does). We loved Sea star (see my review and photos), and went through Mai House which is only a few hundred metres down the same beach. Mai House looked good too. THe bungalows were much further spread out than Sea Star and the resaurant looked fantastic with great range and prices. I think you'd be heppy with either.

But I LOVED Sea Star and would choose there again.

Enjoy!

Thanks for your thoughts! We went with Mai House in the end because we felt the resort looked a little more naturally landscaped and, in the end, we weren't that bothered about having a bungalow right on the beach. But, as you say, both look lovely and I think we'd be happy at both. At least they are close to each other so we can visit both bars/retaurants.

Just wondering if you think we'll really suffer without AC in early/mid March?

Travelrequired,

I recently stayed at Mai House;

tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g293921-i8432-k205…

We had a good time!

Regarding A/C. PQ is a hot place. I live in Australia were the average hot summers day is 35+. If i go back i would ensure i had A/C.

Regards,

Shanan.

You'll love Phu Quoc.

We also used the air con at Sea Star every night as the night time temp never dropped below 26 and 80%-90% humidity.

Enjoy!
