Hello everyone! I'm going to stay in Trenton for one day, and I would like to know what is there to see there! If anyone could help with ideas and suggestions I would appreciate it very much!

Thank you

If you are in downtown Trenton you can easily take the NJ Transit train to Princeton for the day.

Depends on your interests, transportation mode, and when you will be there!

Trenton has historical sites like the State House and Old Barracks Museum (Revolutionary War). Near the State House is the NJ State Museum, which is small but covers a variety of NJ subjects like dinosaurs, fine arts, and Indians. There is a planetarium. If you are staying at the Trenton Marriott, the State House complex is adjacent.

Connected to the Marriott is the Patriots Theater where concerts, shows, and opera are presented on weekends. Close by is the Sun National Bank Arena that also hosts larger events like Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, monster trucks, WWF, or Trenton Devils hockey.

Shopping in town is a little limited - the Trenton Commons area has a variety of small shops and businesses but the economic downturn has not been good to Trenton retail. Likewise the Trenton Jazz Festival closed up last year due to funding. But there are two Trenton Film Festivals planned for this year - June and October. The famous Trenton Computer Festival will be held at the College of NJ in April.

In the spring, the Trenton Thunder baseball team (Yankees) will be back in operation at Waterfront Park. The Katmandu restaurant and dance club is in the same complex.

If you will travel by train, the Trenton Riverline can take you down along the Delaware River and back - seeing various NJ towns and the riverfront. If you have a car, the possibilities multiply. There are many historic sites in nearby towns - Washington Crossing (with an annual Christmas crossing) or Princeton. There is a great sculpture park in nearby Hamilton (Grounds for Sculpture). More shopping options arise if you travel north on Route One to Quakerbridge Mall area (one of three malls on the same intersection). Also close by car is Sesame Place in nearby Oxford Valley, PA or Great Adventure (30 minutes away) in Jackson NJ. You can ice skate at IceLand or climb walls at Rockville Climbing center - both in Hamilton.

While there is much to do in Trenton and the surrounding area, the town does become a little dicey in the evenings when many of the workers leave for the suburbs.

Once you know your dates, you can google to find out what is going on in the area. The State of NJ runs a search site that might be helpful:
