We will be flying into Newark as it is closer to the Hotel.Would it be to hectic to take the lightrail to the Secaucus Junction Station then a cab to the hotel? Aslo staying in Manhattan is to $$$$$.Is Secaucus the place to stay? Thanks

The Light Rail does not go from the airport to Secaucus. What you want is the Airtrain from the airport to the Newark Airport Station. There can get a NJ Transit train to the Secaucus Jct. Train Station. Then a cab to your hotel. I understand that there is a bus stop near that hotel that goes into NYC.

Your best bet is to email the hotel and ask them....

"Is Secaucus the place to stay?"

You're probabaly staying at this hampton inn http://www.harmonmeadow.com/map/HMmap.pdf

They have very good bus service into NYC via NJ Transit bus 320 http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0320.pdf and when you get on the bus in Secaucus you should purchase a round trip ticket from the driver because a ticket is required to get on the bus at the bus terminal in NYC (drivers only accept cash in NJ and yes, they make change, if they have it. The fare chart is here njtransit.com/pdf/sf_bu_fare_NewYorkCity.pdf -- you will be zone 3 and a round trip ticket is just 2 one-way tickets)

Is it the place to stay? Well, bus service has limits - it's certainly better if you're have rail service, which this hotel does not. On the other hand, it's probably cheaper than one that does. My advice has always been to read the reviews fo the hotel (because they will comment on gettting into NYC) and just understand that you probably cannot come back to the hotel in the late afternoon to rest up and expect to go back into the city in time for a show due to rush hour traffic.

And in case you were wondering, yes, it's very safe to take the bus back, even very late. You'll be surprised at how many people do that. Just be aware that the gate changes at the bus terminal at 10:01 PM
