We love the Inn at Phillips Mill. It's a funky old B&B with a charming dining room. Not fancy in the trendy sort of way, but lovely and romantic. We first went there almost 20 years ago when we lived in NJ (now live in CA) and it hasn't changed at all, including the wonderful woman who walks among the diners with a keyboard around her neck singing songs in French (think Les Mis and la Mer). We love this place and still go back for dinner and spend the night when we're in the area. My favorite room is the enclosed patio, but the other rooms are nice as well, especially one with a giant fireplace. I'd ask for a room that isn't seating a large party that night, as they can be noisy and the service can suffer (6 or more people). It's BYOB, which saves on the check. Good food, often very good. Not for everyone, but quaint and something different if that's what you're looking for. Bring a check (no credit cards) and some good wine. I think the singer is only there on Friday nights.
