best bet for snow- late December skiing

I am planning a family Christmas ski trip. Half of us are intermediate to expert skiers and the other half are beginners. We thought about The Canyons in Park City, but one of the avid skiers in the group said that may not be the best place for snow in late December, and suggested Heavenly in Lake Tahoe. Can anyone tell me where in the USA will most likely get the best snow in late December? We could also go to Colorado if skiing there would be better. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd go with Colorado for snow in December. While Dec 2010 we had tons of snow this past Dec (2011) we had none but the man made kind with a few runs open.

It's fine if you are local and can go for the day or if you own a place at tahoe but if you are bringing a group and want to be sure of having snow in Dec I don't know if I'd be willing to gamble on Tahoe having enough snow for your group.
