Just had a delightful visit to Tahoe. Best Western Station House is great.
I walked through Horizon and noticed that there are barely any slot machines nor table games. Is it about to close? It was nice at one time but I would never stay there based on reviews. Plus it was empty.
Also, there's construction going on between Harrah's and Mont Bleu Casino. What is going up to replace the old Bill's Casino??
The Horizon is certainly struggling, but I know of no plans to close it. The old Bill's casino under construction will have a drug store, small gaming area and a new restaurant. Here is more informtion:

Well, like they say, there goes the neighborhood. The presence of any commercial establishment in the casino area, of any kind, will destroy much of the ambiance. Can recall when what will become a drugstore was once Barneys, long before it morphed into Bills. Was never fond of Bills, but it was far better than a place to purchase toothpaste and headache remedies.
