Tell, me, what do you think, is Reno better than Vegas, or do they compare, i want your opinion, Thanks.
I live within 90 minutes of Reno and every time I'm there I am more convinced that it is a dump. It's a sad, sorry place. If you don't gamble there is nothing in Reno that is of interest. There is Tahoe close by but that's not Reno.
There, you have my opinion. I now expect you to discount everything I've said because I don't believe you want my opinion you want to say how great it is there and you will simply disagree with my opinion.
For gamblers, Reno is a good place for low limit table games. It cannot compete with Las Vegas for entertainment, especially on week days. All of this is true for Stateline casinos, too.
Reno provides one thing that Las Vegas does not. Access to excellent ski slopes for day trips. Hotel week-end rates are very economical compared to Lake Tahoe hotels.
Reno shares one thing with Las Vegas - traffic congestion!
If I am planning a trip from the east coast for gambling, entertainment, and day trips then Las Vegas is the destination. If skiing is part of my agenda, then a week-end in Reno plus week days in Lake Tahoe are it!
I am a frequent visitor of both Reno and Vegas. I love them both for different reasons and for different occasions. If I really want a gambling trip with cheaper options I pick Reno. I tend to travel to Reno with significant others or family. I really enjoy staying at the eldorado and wandering around the casinos, enjoying a nice romantic meal at Roxy's and soaking in one of their (affordable) spa suite rooms. I like that in Reno, everything I want to see is a walk away. I seldom take a cab and that saves me a ton of money. I can do a lot more gambling in Reno than I am able to do in Vegas for the same amount of money. If I am going with my girlfriends, I always choose Vegas. Vegas has a ton of nightlife and keeps us girls up late and dancing the night away. I also love the heat in Vegas. I am going to Reno in a few weeks for a 3 night trip and am very excited. I know a lot of people bash on Reno, but for me it is a perfect hour and a half flight away vacation.
