We stuck mostly to old favorites.
Glad to say that the Oyster Bar overlooking South Virgina at the Atlantis is still a incredible bargain. Fresh succulent seafood. We had our small bowel of clam chowder ($3.95) & the Sea food Platter for two ($29.95) a feast of Lobster Claws, Oysters on the half shell, Prawns, Crab Legs & claws. Total cost with tip, taxes & drinks $65. Waiter Paul the Best!
Lunch at Louis Basques Restaurant downtown I having the lamb, Linda the Pork Chop with soup, salad, beans, potatoes & dessert. Also included wine or soft drink. $11.95 plus tax & tip. Delicious with excellent service.
Dinner second night at The Rapscallion a old time restaurant on Wells reminiscent of some in San Fransisco. Excellent Escargot ($12), Butterleaf/walnut salad $7), hot sourdough bread, 1/2 stuffed Lobster ($26) with wild rice & veggies, martini & wine for Linda, Ice tea for me total cost with Taxes & tip $105 & worth every penny. Our waitperson Melinda efficient & friendly.
We also had a excellent Key Lime cheese cake (huge $6.50)) from the Peppermill bakery in the new tower.
We went South from Reno on our return trip stopping at the new Gold Coast Casino in Carson City & the old long time Nugget there. Then at the Carson Valley Lodge in Minden were we had an excellent breakfast (Eggs Benedict & a Omelet $20.00 with the Old farts discount) before one final stop at The Lake Topaz casino before heading home on 89/4 a fabulous if bit harrowing drive by Alpine Lake down to the bay area.
Wonderful Wonderful 10th Anniversary!
