Vegas Virgin 10 Day Trip Report 07/08-07/18

Finally, I have a chance to write my trip report for the girls trip my best friend and I took a few weeks ago. Since this was our very first trip to Vegas and because it was 10 whole days, I will try to keep it short. Also, I won't post this all at once because I don't want to lose what I've written. So, let me begin.....

My best friend and I decided to hire a car for our Las Vegas girls trip. As it was our very first trip we didn't want the hassel of trying to use a shuttle or cab, so we decided on the airport package with Presidential Limousine (see my review for more) After our driver met us at baggage claim, he stopped for pictures at the Welcome sign and then whisked us away to the New York New York hotel & casino. Even though it was only about 11 am we decided to see if we could get an early check in, and were the second people waiting at reception. We were pleasantly surprised that our Park Avenue Strip View room was ready, and we didn't pay an early check in fee! (I think it was because we were staying 10 days) We easily found the Chrysler building elevators and rode our way up to the 31st floor. The first thing we saw when we walked inside was a view of the MGM right across the street! I won't go into a whole lot of details about the room, but the beds were very comfortable, there was plently of room for the two of us, with a safe inside the wardrobe and a powerful shower. A few days I had a tub bath because the shower was kind of harsh. After familiarizing ourselves with our hotel, we wondered over to the Excalibur, took the tram to Mandalay Bay and then over to Luxor, gambling a little and sipping on Cranberry Vodka cocktails all the while. We headed 'home' around 10pm that night since we been up since 4am to catch our flight.

How is the tub at NYNY? I am always curious about their rooms.

Day 2: We took the skywalk over to the MGM and toured around before stopping for breakfast. From there we hoped on the Deuce and rode up to the Palazzo. I absolutely loved this property with its Carnavale atmosphere! We didn't stop to watch the show since we were quite early but its on my list for next time!! We then headed over to the Venetian where we toured through Madame Tussauds before continuing down the strip to Harrahs. We found Fat Tuesdays and I latched onto the Belini, it was soooo good! We then walked through the Quad, the Flamingo, Bally's and Paris. We happened to be walking along inside Paris at one point when my friend exclaimed "There's Taylor Hicks" I said "Whose Taylor Hicks?" just as a guy approached us and asked if we wanted to see the show. It wasn't until we were seated inside the small little bar area that I found out Taylor Hicks is from American Idol. The music was pretty good actually and for a free show we enjoyed ourselves. I'm not even sure what time it was by then but my feet were calling it a day so we hoped back on the Deuce and headed 'home'. After being dropped at the closest stop to NYNY, we realized we were at the Monte Carlo so we headed inside for a little bit of gambling and a Cranberry Vodka night cap.

Chachakaboom, the tub is your average ordinary tub with sliding glass doors attached for the shower

Day 3: After breakfast we rode the Deuce back up the strip to explore Encore and Wynn which were both amazing with their butterfly motif everywhere. We walked across the street and caught the day time Siren show. Of course we had never seen the original pirate show but I really don't know why everyone seems to hate the Siren show since we really enjoyed it. I understand that this isn't something for children but.....it IS Sin City!!!! We then walked through Treasure Island, gambling and sipping cocktails. From there we were just in time to see the Valcano erupt at the Mirage before touring through that casino. Then it was back across the street to the Fat Tuesdays we found near Casino Royale, went through that casino and toured around Planet Hollywood. Not sure when we arrived 'home' but I definately needed to soak my feet that night!

Day 4: Somehow we ended up sleeping til noon!!! (It could have been those darn black out drapes?!) Since we had free tickets from the MyVegas facebook game to see Thunder From Downunder that evening, we didn't venture out of our hotel. We had thought about going down to the pool but we never made it. Instead we had something to eat, gambled and found the closest Fat Tuesdays for another Belini slushie! Now ladies, if you want to see some hard bodies, these Australian boys are the group to see!!!! I will cherish forever the picture we each got with us seated on the knee of our favorite performer. After the show we decided to just wonder the strip and at some point we were approached by a guy asking if we wanted to see some strippers. Since we had just come from a striptease, we decided what the hell! For a two drink minimum purchase at the door we were whisked away in a limo to Larry Flynt's Hustler Club. This place is 3 stories and had a separate area with male dancers!!! Needless to say day 4 merged into day 5 where we didn't do much but nurse hangovers and order room service. Glad we had another 5 days to go!

Day 6: We woke pretty early, had breakfast and hoped the Deuce again, this time headed to the Stratosphere. We ended up winning a little money at this casino (around $100 playing minimum bet at a penny Monopoly slot machine) Then we got on the Deuce and rode down to Circus Circus, watched the Silk show under the Adventure Dome, gambled a little at Slots-O-Fun and boarded the bus again to Caesars Palace. This is THE most amazing property!! We could not believe the sheer size of this place, the amount of sculptures, fountains and even chandeliers that were everywhere you looked. At one point we found a restaurant and decided we should eat. It wasn't until we gave our name to the host that we realized we were at the Cheesecake Factory. I don't understand why people seem to dislike this restaurant. I thought it was amazing that it had 2 levels! We were seated on the second floor by the railing where we could people watch and we both enjoyed our Salmon with asparagus and shrimp. Next we headed to the Bellagio but we missed the last performance of the fountains that evening, so we toured through the casino. By the time we made it through Aria we decided to call it a night (or morning!)

Day 7: We decided Sunday would be a perfect time to head down to the Fremont Street Experience. We had planned to take the Deuce from MGM but the ticket machine didn't seem to be working. We found another one around Planet Hollywood and realized we were pretty much in time to see the Bellagio fountain show. After the breath taking water display, we crossed the street, hoped the Deuce and headed to our destination on Fremont Street. We were ravished by the time we got there and so we decided to eat at Magnolia's Veranda in the 4 Queens (see my review for more) We spent the day touring around and found a little horse race game at the D that we played at for hours. We were surprised that the machines there took actual coins!! At one point while touring through the Golden Nugget we came across this huge tropical fish aquarium. We didn't even know it was a restaurant called Chart House until I got closer to take a picture. We decided to stop and eat but since I was still full from the sandwhich I had earlier, I settled on the Lobster & Shrimp spring rolls after sharing the Tuna, Avocado & Mango stack starter with my friend (see my review for more) After watching the light shows, the bands and having a Mudslide slushie we hoped back on the Deuce to head 'home'. As we were approaching the Bellagio we realized we could catch the last fountain show that evening. Later we walked back to NYNY.

Day 8: We started our day on the Roller Coaster at our hotel before heading out for breakfast. Again we hopped the bus to the Stratosphere to ride the Insanity, the XScream and the Big Shot. I loved them all but my friend prayed for her life on every single ride! We toured through the huge souvenir shop down the block and eventually made our way to mid strip. After walking around with Belini slushies for awhile we headed back to New York New York to take in the Zumanity show (see my review for more) After we gambled a little at MGM and our own casino before calling it a night.

Day 9: First thing that day we took a cab to the North Outlet mall to do some shopping. All the shops were great and the little coupon book you can get with a coupon I found online was worth it. We found this little kiosk where we each bought a pair of wedge sandals that you can create your own designs, using different color ropes. My best friend got an amazing deal on a Coach purse with a 50% coupon! By mid day were were back at NYNY to unload our purchases. We then wondered over to Luxor where we walked through the Titanic and Bodies exhibits. They were the most amazing displays I have ever witnessed. I absolutely loved the part of the Titanic exhibit where you walk through a door and find yourself on the deck of the ship at night as if you were actually there!!! I definately recommend seeing this exhibit. Later we got ready and headed back down the strip to the Quad so we could get show tickets to Diva's. Before the 9pm show we decided to eat and found Stack at the Mirage with THE most amazing food I have ever tasted (see my review for more) By the time we found our way through all the construction at the Quad, we were almost late for the show! I loved every minute of Diva's, it was spectacular, funny and very well done. No wonder the show has been running for so long! (see my review for more). Again we wondered the strip until we ended up back at NYNY.

I just want to say that I love the fact that you girls were so opened to trying e everything and had such a positive attitude about it! It makes me hopeful that there are still ppl with personality in this world! Lol. I cant imagine how much a ten day trip to Vegas cost; my sister and I are planning a four day trip (we are virgins too!) and the budget is getting crazy. Glad you both enjoyed the trip!
