Quick TR June 29th - July 4th

Hey Everyone,

First time poster just decided to post a quick travel report. The trip with myself and my wife (25 and 27) .

June 29th

=====================

Arrive at airport at 6pm, Quick check in fly through security (30mins total) Board plane at 8:45pm take off at 915pm (toronto time)

Arrive in Vegas at 10:45 pm Vegas time, Get our bags head over to the taxi line.

After telling my wife I was going to make sure to say NO TUNNEL. I forgot and proceeded to get tunneled.

After finally arriving at Aria with a $26 cab bill, we headed over to check in.

Nice and Friendly check in and nice architecture.

For the rest of the night we have a few drinks and stay around Aria gambling and just enjoying the hotel before heading to bed.

June 30th

==============================

We get up around 10am head down to get a coffee and a quick snack. We then proceed to check out a few hotels (planet hollywood and Bellagio) and head back to Aria for the lunch Buffet We received a free buffet comp everyday for our stay so might as well take advantage of it!

Later in the afternoon we headed over to Mandalay Bay to check out the Shark Reef. Was much smaller then I was expecting took maybe 30min to walk around.

For dinner we headed over to Stripsteak as we had bought a $50 gift cert from restaurant.com ($4 with 80% off coupon)

All I can say is WOW...I had a Filet migon and my wife had the chicken dish..

Best steak I have ever had! Duckfat fries were also very good as were the potato cakes.

The restaurant was alot more casual then i was expecting (people wearing baseball caps and shorts)

Overall though bill came to $95 after the restaurant.com gift cert. Well worth the money! Service was exellent.

After dinner we headed over to Planet Hollywood to check out Peepshow. Great Show! would highly recommend.

July 1st

=======================================

We spend most of the day check out any shopping there was in the hotels.

We checked out the Forum Shops, Miracle Mile and the Bellagio shops. Lunch Again at Aria with our comp buffets.

For dinner we headed over to Prime in Bellagio for dinner. This restaurant was a lot more "upscale". Dress code was much more enforced then at Stripsteak. I had the New York Striplion and again my wife had the Roasted chicken Dish.

Overall food here was excellent but we both agreed we preferred Stripsteak. (which honestly surprised me as I figured this would blow stripsteak away).

July 2nd and 3rd

==============================

These 2 days were spend mostly gambling or walking around checking out the strip.

We did check out Viva Elvis which my wife and I enjoyed and we also ate at the Cheesecake Factory (one of my wifes favourites)

We did request a change of room the this time as well. We were directly across the street from Marque nightclub which is open until 5am and the music is very loud and hard to ignore.

The change of room was no problem and we were told it was a common complaint.

Not sure how anyone could stay at Cosmo and get any sleep!

July 4th

=====================

Checkout at 8am and head to the taxi line. Get in a cab with my first words being "Quickest route NO TUNNEL" Cost me $13 to get to the airport.

From now on that will be the first thing I say..Not alot of money by any means but being taken advantage of is frustrating!

The Shark Reef can be disappointing for those who like to visit real aquariums or zoos, for others it is a nice diversion.

Unfortunatley there are many hotels which have rooms with noise problems from the clubs. One of the great things about this forum is that you can usually know about these in advance if you ask or do a little research.

Glad you enjoyed your trip. And thanks for posting a report.

So sorry you got tunneled. But sounds like the rest of the trip was good, once you had a quiet room!

Yeah, I've heard a lot of people say they were disappointed with the Shark Reef but I absolutely love it. It's such a lovely place to get away from the casino for a little while, but I know what I'm getting into since I've been there like 10 times. LOL

Thanks for writing a trip report - I enjoyed reading it. :)

Thanks for the TR!! Sounds like you had a great time.

Glad to hear you enjoyed StripSteak. It is my personal favorite and we go there every trip. The dress code there can be dicey. I think you should be at least business casual, at least I do to feel comfortable. But you do see a lot of folks in ultra casual clothes. I think because it's kind of open to the walkway that people think it's not fine dining. Anyway, it's a great restaurant!

Also glad to hear you enjoyed Viva Elvis. We have tix for September and it gets mixed reviews. I like Elvis, I like musicals, and I like Cirque. How can it be a miss for me?

Sorry about the tunnel. No, it's not a huge loss, but it is frustrating.

Nice TR!!
