Which hotel?

I'm going with a friend and I we want to spend around $100-125 per day if possible. We are staying from Nov 17-21 (Thur-Sun). I would likes a fun casino with shopping, lounges, clubs etc or easy access to the hot spots close by. I've stayed at MGM, NYNY, Caesar's etc so I'm a little spoiled in that sense and am bummed that we are on such a budget. She doesn't have the funds to stay at a more expensive place and as it is, I will probably have to pay the extra in order to get to stay at a better hotel on the strip than what we had originally budgeted for. She's thinking Tropicana and I'm looking at Excalibur, Monte Carlo, maybe Flamingo or Bally's? What would be a good choice and not break the bank? We want to be around a bunch of single men (but not too young, we are in our 30's).

Thank you for any suggestions!!

my suggestion would be to get on the email list for as many hotels as possible. You will be surprised at the offers you get and some may be in your budget (or close to it). While you may not want to spend the money, our rate at the Bellagio dropped from $249.00 to $149.00 per night just from an email offer. You won't get the same deals for a weekend in October as this one but at least you know deals are out there.

Try to go Sunday thru Wed instead of over a weekend. You should then be able to stay at many places for $100 or less. NYNY just sent me an email with $79 rates, but not on the weekend.

I wish we could go during the week, but she has noone to watch her kids for 4 days straight during the week. And the fact that I can get out for 4 days at all is a miracle. She's more laid back and will stay anywhere (she's just glad to be going on a vacation period!). I on the other hand, really like the little amenities, nice frou-frou extra's, and a hot and happening place. Last year I stayed w/ another girlfriend at NYNY and while service was so-so, but I really had a blast at the bars, restaurants and playing at the tables.

I was just reading the posts on the Tropicana and I'm not thrilled about what I've read (smells, mold, falling apart, etc). But it is on a great corner. I tried to check out Barbary Coast and Imperial Palace but they are already sold out on those dates! I'm all about location, location, location otherwise I would book a room at Orleans since it sounds so nice and price is right. But we will be doing a lot of late night outings so I don't think it will be practical.

Monte Carlo would be a good choice for you two. Ask "VegasHomeboy" to hook you up. AVOID Ex unless you want to overrun with teenagers and AVOID Trop as it is just as you have heard, in other words, not nice at all. If MC doesn't work, either Flamingo or Ballys would be fine.
