Ballys or Caesars? (Comps and Rooms)

I need to make a decision soon! We are going to Vegas next weekend and I need to decide where to stay. At Bally's I can get one night comped, but they are the standard rooms (which I understand are not so great?) and the other two nights are $149. At Caesars, we have reduced rates $139 (Friday & Sat) and $99 (Sunday), however these are their standard rooms in the Centurion Tower. I have never stayed at Bally's, so I don't know what to expect there, and it has been a long time since we stayed in Caesars' standard rooms. Which are better? I was also told that we could reserve a suite at Bally's and probably be comped at the end of our stay, at least part of the suite cost...of course not guaranteed.

One other question, the comps, Caesars has gotten quite stiff with their comps (we use to get comped 2 nights in a Palace tower room, now we get reduced rates). Bally's is offering a comped room and we rarely even gamble in their casino...though I realize they are owned by the same ppl, why such a difference? Is Caesars just trying to recover from all of their construction costs? Or is Bally's just trying to get more ppl in?

As far as the comps, both hotels are targeting different people. In order to get comps at Caesars you will need to bet a lot higher than Bally's.

So the choice would be yours: lower minimums and comps: Bally's. If minimums are no issue, you can try Caesars.

Ready4fun, Are the rates for Cesars for anyone? I would be Very interested in staying there for those rates. Is there are promo code available that you would be willing to share? I am staying the weekend of the 10th and have reservations at the Boardwalk but after reading reports on here am hesitant. I would cancel in a hot minute if I could get Cesars at the price you mentioned... Any help????

Why gamble a lot of money to realize a 180 dollar room?

COMPS have become difficult at the strip hotels. competition is stiff, they need to save money where ever they can.

Harrahs is a decent place. easier to get comped for room an food, if u bet good at the crap tables. Flamingo, also. TI is another.

Caligurl, sorry I don't have a code, I am a member of the Connection club and that was one of their offers.

Thanks for all of the input, we are going to give Bally's a try. We have requested a newly renovated room...no guarantees, but hopefully we will have a decent room.

Just got back from a visit at Caesar's Palace and I would recommend staying there over Bally's. I booked ahead phoning the hotel directlyand got a great rate, total for 6 nights Sat - Friday was $972 + tax ranging from $324 (Sat of the long weekend) to $108 (Monday & Tuesday), the rest somewhere in between. I was able to get a AAA discount when I booked. On the second day we were able to upgrade to the Palace Tower - close to the pool. It was a great room and I would recommend the upgrade - worth the extra $50 IMO, even though at check-out the upgrade was complimentary. Can't speak for the rooms at Ballys, but the CP amenties were wonderful - liked the casino, shops, location.

I agree, Caesar's has it all over Bally's, no comparison at all.

Bally's is boring, go with CP

I still haven't cancelled my reservation at CP. Does anyone know if Bally's and Paris have gone to the paper printouts instead of coing in their slot machines?

Just about everywhere is using paper print outs instead of coins. At first I thought it would be not as much fun, but I have to tell you it was way easier to run around with a piece of paper in your hand than a bucket of dirty coins. The machines still ring out the sounds of money. The change grows on you! Just don't forget to cash in the voucher before you leave the casino you're gambling in. I learned the hard way when I discovered a cash voucher for Venetian on our last day - left it for housekeeping. You can cash out at the cashier or at one of the many ATM type machines set out for that purpose.
