We own a condo in the Meadow Village that we rent. It is exactly one mile (there is a bike path) from our complecx (Firelight Meadows) to the Hungry Moose Grocery store. There is also the Huckleberry Cafe, A chinese restaurant and Choppers Bar and Grill where the Grocery is located. Additional restuarants are about 1/4 mile away- pizza, bakery, thai, etc. There is a ski shuttle that picks up in our complex and takes you to the mountain. This same shuttle makes various stops around the village as well. If you don't mind riding the bus it is a good option, but can take awhile with all the stops. I really would recommend a rental car for big sky. Until you pay for the Karst stage from the airport to Big Sky for each person, you could probably rent a car for not much more. The mountain is 6 miles from the Meadow Village, and while there are restaurants and shops in Meadow Village, there are other options on the mountain and also below meadow village that would be more easily accessed by car. If you have not been to big Sky or Moonlight Basin before, the mountains are awesome. Varied terrain, no lift lines, great skiiing!!! It is a little out of the way to get to, but so worth it. Big sky is not an apre ski or nightlife place, just unbelievable skiing. Check out our website bigsky.oconnorpermits.com. Let me know if you have any other questions. We know the area and the mountains well.
